Dr. Mathew Thomas

Dr. Mathew Thomas is a licensed veterinarian with over 35 years of diverse clinical experience in both small and large animal medicine and surgery. He earned his veterinary degree from a very respected Veterinary School in India and later received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Iowa State University in the United States. For the past 20 years, Dr. Thomas has been serving the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, practicing general medicine, dentistry, and performing a wide range of surgical procedures for companion animals.

With a decade of experience in Emergency and Critical Care at prominent emergency hospitals, Dr. Thomas continues to pursue his passion for urgent care and emergency surgeries right here at Cornerstone Animal Hospital. His expertise in high-pressure medical situations brings added value and reassurance to our clients and their pets.

Dr. Thomas is a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS), Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) and the Tarrant County Veterinary Medical Association (TCVMA). He is known for his progressive, compassionate approach to veterinary care and is committed to staying current with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine. He takes great pride in forming strong relationships with his patients and their owners, and is recognized for his attention to detail and thorough diagnostic approach.

Comfortable with a wide range of surgical procedures, Dr. Thomas regularly performs both routine and emergency surgeries, including select orthopedic procedures. He also enjoys treating exotic pets and performing specialized procedures for these unique companions.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Thomas cherishes time with his family, including Mickey the Yorkie and Oreo the cat. He has been married for 25 years and is a proud father of three children.

In addition to Dr. Thomas, our clinic is supported by experienced relief veterinarians who bring extensive medical and surgical knowledge to ensure the highest standard of care for your pet.

Dr. Cindy Martinez

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Cindy Martinez earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University. She’s been in the veterinary medicine field since 2016, completed an internship at the Dallas Zoo, organizing a fundraiser for the Cheetah Conservation fund. Her passion then led her to Cornerstone Animal Hospital, where she had worked as a veterinary technician. She joined the Cornerstone team once again and has been working in her fourth role as an Associate Veterinarian alongside Dr. Thomas.
